Sample Public Relations Proposal

Proposal
Dear Mr. Agent:
Thanks, for taking the time to review my proposal. Mr. Agent, I’ve considered your offer, and I
would like to take Mr. Baseball Player’s case. Also, since Mr. Baseball Player is a very popular
public figure. I think it would be in his best interest to seek expert advice from me, because I
have extensive experience in the public relations field, and I’m also taking the case, because I
know, I will be able to improve Mr. baseball player’s public image. In addition, I believe, I am the
public relations representative, who is most qualified to help in this situation, and I can ensure
you, that I will provide high quality consultation and representation for Mr. Baseball Player
during this crisis.
Mr. Agent, I’ve taken two cases like this one in the past, and in both instances the players were
not charged with any drug violations. In fact, both were almost identical to Mr. Baseball Player’s
current situation. The first case dealt with a rumor that Mike Piazza, the major league baseball
player had taken performance enhancing drugs. However, there were never any charges or law
suits filed against my client, and while his public image did suffer considerable damage. He was
never forced to make a public apology.
The second case I took was for Major League baseball player Alex Rodriguez, this case was
very much like the first one, because there were no formal charges. Furthermore, during that
time period, I managed to resolve the crisis by instructing Mr. Rodriguez to not speak about the
issue to any Journalists, or any outside sources that might transmit the information to the
general public, and I am currently representing Mr. Rodriguez with other issues concerning his
public image. In addition, I’ve also advised over half a dozen Major League Baseball players, and
the players who have sought out my consultation are Jose Guillen, Wilson Alvarez, Dave
Martinez, Brian Roberts, David Ortiz and Matt Williams.
Furthermore, after reviewing Mr. Baseball player’s case, I am convinced that I will be able to
assist him, and  I’ve designed a strategy to help Mr. Baseball player clean up his public Image.
My strategy will be to issue several written statements to the media, denying the rumor that
Mr. Baseball Player was taking performance enhancing drugs or steroids, and I will emphasize all
of Mr. Baseball Player’s accomplishments, both on and off the playing field.
For example, I will discuss the charity organization, he established in his community, and I will
also emphasize that these allegations are only rumors and not formal accusations. Furthermore,
I will discuss how he has inspired his community with his constant leadership on the field,
and how he has contributed to winning two world series titles, and I will also talk about his
college career, and how successful it was during his senior year. In addition, I will ask Mr.
Baseball Player to hold a news conference, so he can verbally deny these allegations, and I want
him to say that he is unaware of taking illegal substances, in other words, I want him to
state in the press conference that he does not recall taking any illegal performance enhancing
drugs.
Furthermore, I will probably need to have more than one consultation with Mr. Baseball
Player before I execute my proposed strategy. Also, the proposed plan will probably take
a little over a month to complete, and the task will most likely require me to work 30 to 40
hours a week. In total the job may take 120 to 180 hours, and my fee for taking the case will be
$100, 000 dollars. However, the fee could change, but only if there is a drastic change in Mr.
Baseball Player’s case.
In closing, I plan to use my expertise to help Mr. Baseball player. Also, I will represent him
until the ordeal is over, and I will work overtime if I have to. Whatever, I can do to improve his
public image, I will do. Rest assured that I will attempt to resolve the issue in a prompt and
satisfactory manner.
